Last Call for A1A Marathon and Half

a1a

This is your last chance to register online for the race this weekend. Registration for the half and full close tomorrow at 7pm. I believe you will still be able to register at the Publix Health and Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday as long as it doesn’t sell out, which is looking like it likely will. So hurry on up! Use code: BIBRAVE (all caps) for 20% off.

Training in the past few weeks has been slow going as I am coming back from a huge marathon PR at the Miami Marathon. Only the past week or so have I felt like my pace is returning since the marathon. I will write a race recap soon about it, I promise, I have just been super busy lately.

I’m really looking forward to this race and even more so now that I know that a good running friend of mine will be pacing the 2:00 group. Hoping to be ahead of them but it will be good to know that if I fall a bit behind they will be there to motivate me to speed on up! Still not sure of how I will do and how the weather may or may not cooperate. According to the weather forecast right now it seems like it will be a warm race, just crossing my fingers that a freak cold front comes through with no wind for race morning.

I have decided to stop focusing on PRs for a bit and focus more on having fun at races. It will take a lot of pressure off me and make things a lot more fun. I will go into races like I do when I run a race with the stroller, for the fun of running. Plus I have a lot of high mileage weeks coming up, almost like marathon training but 50k training instead.

Be on the lookout for a post about the A1A half marathon soon and if you are going to the race, keep an eye out for me in my bright orange Bib Rave tank top.
